Held at the ancient Herodes Atticus Odeon in Athens, Greece, an amphitheater with a rich history, this open-air concert took place beneath the iconic Acropolis. This was the first musical collaboration between Sir Simon Rattle and the world-renowned pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim. The repertoire featured Johannes Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1 and Piano Quartet No. 1 (orchestrated by Arnold Schoenberg), and showcased Brahms's profound and romantic compositions.
