A celebration of the Romantic era, with Barenboim's masterful conducting bringing out the nuances and emotional depth of each piece. The performance was enhanced by principal horn players from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The program included: Beethoven's Symphony No. 8 in F Major, Op. 93, Schumann's Concertpiece for Four Horns and Orchestra in F Major, Op. 86, Liszt's Symphonic Poem No. 3 "Les Preludes," S. 97 and Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" from Die Walküre, WWV 86B.
