Mr. Hardy is prescribed a quiet seaside trip but instead arranges, with Mr. Laurel’s enthusiastic assistance, a most unconvincing deception so they may attend a luxury convention. The scheme proceeds admirably until telegrams are misread, newspapers consulted, and the truth begins to circulate rather more quickly than intended. By the time the gentlemen return home, their story is in ruins, their timing is unfortunate, and the reception from their wives is, quite understandably, less than warm.
