If you don’t love Baroque music, you might still enjoy Hippolyte et Aricie because of the dramatic storytelling, rich orchestration, and visually spectacular production. Rameau’s music is more dynamic and expressive than early Baroque works, with powerful arias and lush harmonies. While some elements, like ornamented singing and dance interludes, are slow in pace, the mythological grandeur and emotional depth will still captivate, especially with this visually striking modern staging.
