Enjoy a new version of Tchaikovsky’s original. This performance uses the famous Nutcracker score but filters the story through dream logic, absurdism and theatrics. Choreography, direction and scenario by Youri Vamos, who creates a new twist. It’s not about sugarplums or childhood nostalgia; it’s about seeing something utterly familiar turned upside down. Exaggerated gestures, wild costumes and surreal stage images are playful. This is a holiday ballet that does not take itself too seriously.
