The Verbier Festival's Carnival of the Animals, conducted by Mathieu Herzog, was a witty and imaginative celebration of Saint-Saëns’ work. Herzog gave the suite a Swiss twist, swapping the lion for a cow and the kangaroo for a goat. Renowned soloists, including Debargue, Kantorow, the Capuçon brothers, and Martin Fröst, brought charm and brilliance to each movement. Animated art by Sandra Albukrek added a whimsical visual layer, making this concert a joyful, memorable experience for all ages.
